ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਖ਼ੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ: ਕੈਪਟਨ

‘ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਪਟਨ’ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ

ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ।

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਛਲੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੇ ਖ਼ੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਹੇਵੰਦ ਧੰਦਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਅਕਾਲੀ-ਭਾਜਪਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਉਹ ਅੱਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਬਲਾਕ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਰਾਣਾ ਕੰਵਰ ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਬੀਬੀਐਮਬੀ ਆਡੀਟੋਰੀਅਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ‘ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਪਟਨ’ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਮੌਕੇ ਭਰਵੇਂ ਇਕੱਠ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਧ ਰਹੀ ਬੇਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰੀ, ਸਿਹਤ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ, ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਨਿਘਾਰ, ਕੇਬਲ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ ’ਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ, ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਨਾਜਾਇਜ਼ ਮਾਈਨਿੰਗ, ਕੰਢੀ ਏਰੀਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ, ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈ ਖੜ੍ਹੋਤ, ਪੈਨਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਗਨ ਸਕੀਮ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਸਵਾਲ ਕੀਤੇ। ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਲਈ ਅਕਾਲੀ-ਭਾਜਪਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੱਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦਿਆ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲਿਆਵੇਗੀ। ਹਰ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਜੀਅ ਨੂੰ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਕੇਬਲ ਅਤੇ ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ ’ਤੇ ਅਕਾਲੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਨੀਤੀ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਕੰਢੀ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਵੱਲ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਲਾਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਹੱਬ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੇਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਹੇਵੰਦ ਕਿੱਤਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਖੇਤੀ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

‘ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਦੇ ’ਤੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਬਾਦਲ ਸਰਕਾਰ’

ਐਸਵਾਈਐਲ ਮੁੱਦੇ ’ਤੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬਾਦਲ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਇਸ ਮਸਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁਦੀ ਬਲਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਸਲੇ ’ਤੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਹੀਲਾ ਵਸੀਲਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ

‘15 to 18 per cent farmers have become landless’

Farmers continued with their round-the-clock protest on the second day today at a park opposite the District Administrative Complex over their long-pending demands.

They will submit a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner by tomorrow, the last day of their protest.

The farmer leaders claimed that due to continuing debt rise among the farmers, about 15 to 18 per cent of them had become landless, either doing labour or farming on contract.

“It’s an official data that in the last many years, more than 4 lakh farmers have turned landless. But we had earlier conducted the survey in a few villages of Bathinda, including Poohla and Kotda, where we counted that about 15 to 18 per cent farmers had turned landless. They are either forced to do labour or other work or they do contract-based farming. Due to failure of crops, many committed suicide,” the leaders said.

“The land for farmer is everything, but the increasing debt has taken away the land of farmers. Farming is no longer a profitable occupation, rather farmers have to face losses and debt burden,” the leaders added.

Yesterday, the police cordoned off the area on GT Road to prevent the farmers from entering into the park where they had earlier staged a protest for nearly 49 days.

However, the police failed to prevent the farmers, who crossed the barricades and entered into the park to launch their protest.

The farmers will sit on protest till tomorrow.

Shingara Singh Mann, BKU Ugrahan Bathinda president said, “We will give a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner tomorrow, on the last day of our protest. We earlier announced that we would stage protest on July 26, 27 and 28 at the district level but the police, in an undemocratic way, prevented us from doing so.”

“Earlier, we had protested from May 24 to July 11 at this park over our long-pending demands that include waiving of the debt of farmers and farm labourers, who are unable to pay their loans; paying of compensation of Rs 5 lakh each immediately to suicide victim families; survey of suicides from 1990 onwards; release of motor connections to farmers on government expenses; full compensation of Rs 40,000 per acre to farmers who faced damage to the cotton crop following the whitefly attack; making laws in favour of farmers instead of corporate houses or arhtiyas; Rs 40,000 per acre as compensation for the damaged wheat crop due to fire followed caused due to short circuit of wires as a few farmers whose crop was burnt had reportedly committed suicide; quashing of false cases against the protesting farmers; compensation to those injured or dead during farmer agitation; and implementation of the Swaminathan report.”

AAP activists up in arms

Members of Aam Aadmi Party today held a dharna at District Administrative Complex to protest against the allegedly false implication of Delhi MLA Naresh Yadav in sacrilege of Holy Quran that took place in Malerkotla.

They also submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kishor Yadav for the President of India in this regard.

While addressing the gathering, the local leaders of AAP said it seems that the state government has been feeling haunted owing to the rising popularity of AAP ahead of the elections in the state.

They alleged that this was the only reason that the AAP leaders were being implicated into false cases. The SAD government in state was doing this out of politics.

They claimed that AAP MLA from Delhi has nothing to do with the Holy Quran sacrilege incident that took place in Malerkotla.

AAP members sought the President of India’s intervention against such exploitation.

The leaders, who addressed the gathering, were Kashmir Malli, Jarnail Singh Dakoha, Jugal Kishor and Atam Prakash Bablu.
